Full uploads

Starting from now, we will endeavour to upload the entirety of the photos we take to this site. They will be unedited and be put in the “Internal” section. This means that you will need to be logged in to view them. (Please contact Damon Schreiber) if you need login credentials or anything else regarding this site.

The images in this section will not be full resolution. They will be 2000px on the longest side. This is to save space on the server and to save time uploading. If you require any of these photos in full resolution, or edited in any way, please contact me making note of the filename (TPSXXXX).

About this site

Using this site should be fairly simple, but once in a while you might encounter something baffling or broken. So to address such potential issues, please read on.

  • First, this site has different levels of access depending on how you are logged in. If you aren’t seeing photos here that you were expecting to see, it might be because of how you are (or aren’t) logged in. If you need better access, please let me know what you need access to and why: damon@torontoparamedicservices.ca.
  • If you are trying to look at a gallery, but after waiting awhile, none of the photos appear,  all I can tell you is to refresh the window (It’s F5 on Windows, Command+R on Mac OS). Because some galleries are very large, it might not work until you do that refresh.
  • To view the full-size image, you’ll need to click the thumbnail on the gallery page, then you’ll see a “view full-size” link at the bottom-right. You can right-click that link and save the image. If you need a higher-resolution photo than what is available on the site, please email me with the request, quoting the gallery and photo name so that I can find it.
  • This site is not searchable by Google. So please bookmark it for future reference.

Have fun using the site, and let me know if you encounter any issues. If there are any I can fix, I’ll be happy to try.

Site Launch

This is the launch of the Toronto Paramedic Services Photos site. This project wasn’t easy as there’s no off-the-shelf product that does what we needed it to do. But many hours later, I’ve assembled the technologies required to provide a (hopefully) seamless experience to both users and administrators.

This photo repository site was designed with two main goals in mind:

First, we wanted to provide a central location for all the photo galleries we present for events such as graduations, awards ceremonies, and others. This would mostly be accessible without logging in, though some galleries might be deemed “employees only” and for that we’d need login credentials.

Second, we wanted to allow certain members of our staff to have access to our entire photo library, at least going forward, (and when we have time to upload them, going back a few years as well). Continue reading
